A little bit about me
My name is Kristina Dutton, I am 35 yrs old and my husband and I have four children, a 15 yr old boy, a 13 yr old girl, a 10 yr old boy, and a 18 month old baby girl. I have worked as an in-home childcare provider for many years. One day I found myself thinking about myself and my families future. Things such as a retirement plan, good medical insurance, etc., became my focus, but I knew I still wanted to work with children. After much thought and prayer an answer came to me that made perfect sense, I could be a school teacher! I love children and I’m good with them.
My background as a parent, a childcare provider, and a teacher has taught me to be structured, empathetic, patient, and knowledgeable of the fact that not one child is exactly like the other. I know that the purpose of education is to provide children with the skills necessary to be competent individuals who can create a secure future for themselves and others. I believe that what children learn and experience during their early years can shape their views of themselves, the world, and can affect their later success or failure in school, work, and their personal lives. I strongly believe that the future of our country depends on the quality of education our children receive in schools. Therefore, I will not settle for less than the best for them. A strong nation needs educated leaders and workers.
I have high expectations for myself and my students. My ultimate goal in my career is to make a positive difference in as many children’s life’s as possible and to never forget the way I feel about educating our youth. To do this I know I will need to serve each of my students as individuals. In this I mean that I will do my best to take into account all of the similarities and differences among the students in my classroom, whether these similarities and differences have to do with learning styles, physical or mental challenges, socioeconomic status, culture, or language. I plan on continuing my education and always growing and learning as an individual throughout my life.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kristina Dutton
